The space race, with its triumphs and challenges, is a central theme, and the images transport us to the crucial moments of this human adventure. The Perestroika, already mentioned in the first book, becomes a true fashion phenomenon, especially in Italy, with the “Red Army watches” flooding the market. But this trend quickly dissipates, shifting towards Germany after the dissolution of the USSR at the end of 1991. But that’s not all: the technical details are equally fascinating. Soviet engineers achieved extraordinary success with ultra-thin, electromechanical, and quartz movements, remaining at the forefront for their time.
